John Phelps is the principal of Phelps Commercial Realty, a Texas licensed commercial real estate brokerage firm. John founded Phelps Commercial Realty to help doctors meet their commercial real estate business objectives. This was accomplished through representing the doctor in finding the ideal location for their practice and saving money through negotiating the best possible terms on their behalf.
Prior to founding Phelps Commercial Realty, John worked at the two largest independent commercial real estate firms in Texas, at The Weitzman Group in 2001, followed by Henry S. Miller Commercial Realty. While with these firms John represented Tenants and Landlords. This gave John a strong background in the experience of what the Landlord will concede in negotiations of the deal points when representing the doctor.
Phelps Commercial Realty only represents doctors. We do not represent Landlords. This is unique in that we don’t have a conflict of interest in the commercial real estate business. Our firm will show you all the best options, and match the doctor with the optimal real estate solution.
John started his career in 1994 as registered investment adviser. John has worked at a few of the largest firms on Wall Street, including Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and UBS Paine Webber. John attained the position of Vice President Investments at UBS Paine Webber, with over $300 million under management.
In 2001, looking for new challenges, John took his career into the commercial real estate brokerage field.
John’s background in finance is a key component when analyzing and negotiating on behalf of the business interests of the doctors he represents.
John works directly with all the doctors that Phelps Commercial Realty represents, in Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.
Senior Vice President
Alan Clark is a Senior Vice President with Phelps Commercial Realty, a Texas licensed commercial real estate brokerage firm.
Alan joined Phelps Commercial Realty in 2009, and represents doctors across the state of Texas in identifying the best location for their practices, and negotiating the best possible lease terms and conditions on their behalf.
Alan began his career in 1994 in the financial services industry as a financial advisor, and retirement planning specialist working with executives from Exxon Mobil, Chevron, British Petroleum and Conoco. Alan attained the position of Vice President with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and JP Morgan, with over $275 million in assets under management.
Alan attended the University of Mississippi, graduating in 1994 with degrees in Banking and Finance, and Managerial Finance.
Johnny Palmer is a Texas licensed real estate broker with over 15 years of leadership experience in commercial negotiations, deal structuring,acquisition, and market research. He partners with Phelps Commercial Realty to provide doctors with uncompromised service in the areas of practice acquisition and medical office space leasing.
Specializing in buyer representation with dental, optometry, urgent care, emergency, and veterinary practice acquisitions, Johnny’s services are specifically designed to help you meet your individual objectives without sacrificing your already rigorous schedule.
Johnny’s success in brokering has been attributed to his responsiveness, firm negotiation, integrity and diverse market knowledge. Being a Houston native, Johnny has an extensive knowledge of the city’s history and a valuable understanding of the Texas market.
Prior to joining Phelps Commercial Realty, Johnny established Dental Realty, a commercial real estate firm that offers representation services designed to promote the commercial real estate needs of dentists within the state of Texas.
Included in his corporate portfolio, Johnny has experience representing Enron, KBR, Phillips66, Compaq and ConocoPhillips with talent acquisition.
Johnny studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin and resides in Houston, TX with his wife and two children.
